Thank you for coming out to Faith & Food Monday Night. It was great to see so many familiar faces and some new ones too! We talked about how stress and worry play such a role in our everyday lives and how cortisol levels have such an impact on our stress levels and weight management. Shawna shared a great exercise (prop your feet up!) that helped lower cortisol and helps you lose weight. Many have tried it and found it not only helps relax, but the scale moves.
Kimberly Arnold talked about a bunch of different ways to eat healthy on a budget. She went over some great tips and gave some practical ways to shop smart. Here’s her website with some great ideas and more: K.I.M. (Kitchen Instruction Manual)
In Deb Vela’s session, she taught how you can energize, detoxify and alkalize with the power of plants. Eating whole, raw foods have so many benefits. We not only get the nutrition we need at that moment in our meal but lifelong health. Eating raw and organic fruits & vegetables (without all the pesticides & toxins) help prevent and cure diseases and rid our body of the everyday bacteria & toxins. The healthier you eat, the healthier you will be and the more energized you will feel!! Feel free to email Deb or visit for more info.
Kathy had some great exercise tips great for summer travel! Being successful about staying on track while on your vacation involves having a plan in place. Kathy shared a handout that had 2 workouts on it.One was a cardio workout which you can do whether you’re out walking, running, on a treadmill, on an elliptical, or any other piece of cardio equipment that you have available to you. The 2nd workout is a 10 exercise circuit that utilizes a resistance band. A resistance band is compact, making it easy to pack, and very versatile. If you would like a digital copy or have any questions, please email Kathy.
