Revive with Bee Pollen

John’s clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey.
Matthew 3:4 (NLT)

Within the pages of God’s Word, we find important information—things we need to know. The words that seem to be almost tucked away in this verse is full of important information we can apply to our lives today.

If John was completely sustained by honey and locusts, shouldn’t we include it in our daily diet? Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to run down to Whole Foods and ask where they keep their fresh locust. But honey is a different story! Soil, flowers, bees and honeycombs are all God’s idea, which makes bee products a perfect superfood. Bee pollen is considered one of nature’s most completely nourishing foods with so many nutrients in it, you could survive living off of just bee pollen! It Most likely the reason John included honey in his diet.

bee-pollenI first started taking bee pollen because I knew it was great for increasing energy levels, but I found out it has a lot of other great benefits including aiding in digestion, relieving allergy symptoms, as well as giving you a more focused and clear brain!

My favorite reason to have bee pollen is for its natural energetic boost. It’s very high in B vitamins especially B-12. It gives a burst of energy feeling without the jittery side effects those incredibly unhealthy energizer drinks give.

Bee pollen is also great for weight loss because it improves your metabolic rate and also contains a key amino acid called L-glutamine. This key nutrient helps with sugar cravings and withdrawals by helping to steady blood sugar. I usually want something a little sweet after a meal, even if I am not hungry, but after I started taking bee pollen, I noticed this crazy craving diminish.

I add about 1-2 teaspoons to my smoothies and, when needed, I also tuck a pinch of granules under my tongue and let them dissolve. Every body is different, so see what works for you.

I use this brand but during allergy season, I buy it local, made from local bees. You can find it at Sprouts/Whole Foods or at one of the local the farmer’s markets.
