RECAP POST – THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF POPCORN
When prepared properly, popcorn bestows many health benefits that most people have never heard of. It contains a hefty dose of fiber which helps to keep blood sugar and insulin levels stable, lower cholesterol levels, wards off constipation and keeps your bowel healthy.
Popcorn is a whole grain, not a processed grain. Because of this, it contains B-vitamins that are important for energy production in your body and minerals like magnesium and phosphorous that can help prevent osteoporosis.
In recent years, researchers have been shocked to find an amazingly large amount of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols within the hull of popcorn. Polyphenols are one of the more powerful types of antioxidants that you can put in your body. In fact, research has even shown that popcorn contains higher levels of polyphenols than many fruits and vegetables!
