Potassium Rich Foods

This is not wrong—but there are 32 foods with more potassium per calorie than the banana.

The top potassium-rich foods are the same as the top magnesium-rich foods—spinach, Swiss chard, and beet greens. Therefore, these foods should make their way into your meals frequently.

Other foods rich in potassium include asparagus, bok choy, beets, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots, celery, tomatoes, avocado, sweet potato, cantaloupe, salmon, and more. Foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids – The omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil provide a stabilizing effect on heart rhythm function that no medication can provide. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in cold-water fish such as salmon, sardines, mackerel, cod and shrimp and in plant sources such as pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts and leafy greens. Celery, Garlic and Onions – The magnesium and potassium contents of celery, and the antioxidant quercetin found in garlic and onions have been shown to improve the health of the heart.
