Here we are seven weeks into 2015. Are those New Year’s resolutions to create new and healthier habits still going strong? Or have the distractions of daily life put them on the back burner? Or maybe you’ve been trying but not seeing huge results? So many of us have abused, mistreated, or even neglected our bodies for years. We expect that once we start doing the right things, we’ll see the positive changes quickly. So we start the year with great intentions—we set weight loss goals or other wellness and/or fitness goals, but, not surprisingly, our old and unhealthy habits can come creeping back into our lives and drag us down in defeat.
Here’s the TRUTH:
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
–Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
Stay focused, my friend, and be encouraged. God knows your struggles, and He doesn’t want you to wallow in defeat. He has promised that YOU will reap a harvest of blessing at the right time if you don’t give up. Keep moving your body and continue to make the right dietary choices for your body, and one day soon, a harvest of blessing will be yours to enjoy! Find a way to daily keep this truth in front of you—post this verse on your bathroom mirror, make a bookmark for your Bible with this verse on it, tell a friend about your goals and encourage each other, workout with like-minded people, whatever works for you. We all need to be reminded to not give up at some point or another. The beauty is we don’t have to do it in our strength, but His.
