At the November Faith and Food meeting, I discussed the basics of citrus as we are at the start of Arizona’s peak citrus season (November – January). If you missed the meeting or want a refresher then check out my post “Instruction Manual – Citrus” at my site, Kitchen Instruction Manual.
This is a simple way to use citrus which helps our body deal with stress, as well as cardamom which is a spice that can assist in weight loss.
- 1 large grapefruit (pink or ruby red)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- pinch of ground cardamom
- Turn the oven on broil.
- In a small bowl, combine the honey and vanilla. Cut the grapefruit in half and brush the honey mixture evenly over the halves then sprinkle with cardamom.
- Place the grapefruit on a sheet pan under the broiler until bubbling and slightly browned. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
