Welcome again to Fitness Friday!
It’s the end of the week and so many of us are looking forward to a fun weekend. As it is Super Bowl weekend here in the Phoenix area, lots of people are preparing for all the parties and great snacks that go hand-in-hand with the big game. On the news this morning, I heard that in the United States alone, over 1 billion (yes, billion with a b) wings will be consumed. Wow.
I’m a football-loving kind of girl and I’m sure I’ll consume my share of those wings, but before we head into the weekend, let’s dig into God’s truth together:
“You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God, and God Himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God’s temple, you can be sure of that. God’s temple is sacred—and you, remember, are the temple.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (MSG)
God’s desire is for us to care for our temples. So before we indulge in all those game-time treats, why don’t we head outside for a brisk walk, do a home workout, or head to the gym? But instead of working out with the mindset of “I’m going to work out so that I can eat all those buffalo wings without the guilt,” do with the mindset of “My body is God’s temple and I’m going to honor and take care of it because God Himself lives in me.”
Praying that each of you has a fun and safe weekend!
